Cat is a passionate cook who lives the food of her homeland. She shares the flavours and favourites of Greece tonight. From an opening plateful of meze to share, to the sweets that conclude, Cat brings her ebullient spirit to the table with her collection of feast dishes for friends and family. Opa!

Caterina Pizanias is a native Athenian, an accomplished author, lecturer and energetic Greek cook! Her cooking was inspired early in her life by the tavernas and kafeneia of Plaka, Athens bustling neighbourhood at the foot of the Acropolis, and by the fresh foods, spices, and flavours of the Aegean islands where she spent her summers. Caterina loves to cook for friends, and shares her knowledge of special foods and wines found only in Greece with the small groups of travelers she takes annually to Greece with her companyThe ArtExchange.
She is also an active member of Slow Food Calgary and the Greek Women of Wine organization.

The ArtExchange is proud to have contributed to the mini-revolution in raising awareness of regional foods and drinks in Calgary and surrounding area. Our Director’s Greek cooking classes are regularly sold out at the Cooking School of the CookBook Company (www.cookbookcooks.com) where she shares recipes she has collected during travels to Greece and her passion for indigenous Greek grape wines.

On Monday, March the 6^th, 2006 at 7:30pm, we will join forces with The Wine Shop on 17 th Avenue— the place to buy great Greek wines in Calgary—for an informative and tasty sojourn into Greek Wine…stay tuned!
